You’ll bloody love this!
Whether you’re a Whitney fan or an Alexandra fan you’ll bloody love this!
The new age of performance has arrived, bringing multimedia elements to the mainstream and looks freaking amazing. Projected scenes paired with the on stage motion framing added another fantastic layer to the show, making it undeniably epic. The tech crew weren’t the only lot on point, Alexandra Burke smashed it as Rachel Marron, only ever, being upstaged by her son Fletcher as he busted it out for an early scene. Stuart Reid did a nice job with the Frank Farmer character, making the developing relationship between Rachel and himself believable in ever scene. Many other recognisable faces graced the stage, and I recognised characters featured in the Oscar nominated film: this version has been nicely updated - after all it’s now 15 years since its release. The only downside, was that the Stalker, played Matthew Stathers had a buzz cut and a six-pack…and although a six-pack isn’t usually something to complain about, in this case it has to be said that although certainly a troubled and terrifying character, he wasn’t creepy and weird enough for me.
Norwich, do not let this show leave town without getting your bum on a seat for The Bodyguard.
