Super Sunday

Super Sunday

A truly death defying, heart stopping, awe inspiring performance by the ravishing gentlemen of The Race Horse Company. I was fortunate enough to have excellent seats in the stalls very close to the stage which added to my experience for sure; I loved being so close to the action!

From the moment the curtain was raised the atmosphere was electrified, exciting and at times incredibly tense. The stunts became more shocking and risky as the performance progressed and I felt that the whole show had the perfect increase in momentum and excitement. The soundtrack was the perfect accompaniment to this as it fitted in perfectly with the wacky, industrial, Wild Wild West theme to the show. The performance incorporated a wide range of skill and diversity. Not only were the performers utterly fearless and powerful but they were also immensely graceful, gymnastic and very funny indeed. One act included one of them in a giant bear suit being catapulted from floor to ceiling on a giant fairground hammer game, another a double trampoline extravaganza complete with multi-coloured plastic balls that were bounced all over the audience in the process. Their timing was perfection with the seesaw free-for-all as each performer somersaulted and back flipped from end to end as the next person took over; it was so nerve-wracking, but so amazing to watch as they picked up the pace and added in new moves each time.

The climax of the show manifested itself with one of the performers being strapped to a giant rotating circular cage with only a roll of cling film and an elastic strap! The other acrobats ran around like giant, gorgeous hamsters rolling and tumbling to an elated audience; it really was like nothing I have ever seen.

Totally and utterly superb - I just didn’t want it to end!
