One Man Breaking Bad @ Norwich Playhouse
Gas masks off to you Miles Allen!
I was excited to see how Miles Allen, the solo performer in tonight's sold out One Man Breaking Bad would go about cramming sixty 45 minute episodes into the space of 3 hours. Allen bounced on stage in the iconic yellow hazmat suit (perhaps the greatest fancy dress of 2014), backed with the sound of What's The Difference in front of the familiar green and black background of the Breaking Bad logo. He burst into life, slapping his own arse, getting the entire audience involved and raising the bar to the level of grade A quality from the offset. Jesse Pinkman narrates the show, so yeah you know it was always gonna be bitchin’. This show gave you everything you needed to know about Breaking Bad without needing to become a hermit for a long weekend to get through the boxset. But be warned, you will most certainly leave the show with a new favourite character. Allen makes an awesome crack at out-legend-ing Walter White, successfully playing out 27 hours of action in only three hours along with lots of pop culture coolness.
