Open Studios Taster Exhibition

Norfolk Open Studios has been running each year for over twenty years in conjunction with the Norfolk & Norfolk Festival each year. Not only does Open Studios promote local artists from all over the county; it provides them with a platform to exhibit their work, showcase their spaces as assist with networking within the arts community. Last night the Forum hosted the private view for the taster exhibition which is now open to the public until Sunday 30th April to enjoy from 9:30am-6:30pm.

The open, light, airy foyer of the Forum is the perfect location to showcase this kind of event because it is such a versatile space. The organisers have cleverly partitioned the foyer so that you can wander around as if in a gallery of separate rooms; not knowing what you will find around the corner. There is an incredibly wide variety of work on display; everything from traditional watercolour, jewellery, stained glass, acrylics, stainless steel sculptures, felt animals, ceramics and a giant wooden dolls house. The list is endless and with over 160 artists exhibiting their work in the taster event, the space is a real feast for the eyes.

Be sure to put the Open Studio’s dates in your diary, 27th May- 11th June. In the meantime take a wander down to the Forum on your lunch break, on route home or over the weekend and have a look at a truly unique and inspiring collection. Free entry.
