Trucker Diablo - Tail End Of A Hurricane

Trucker Diablo - Tail End Of A Hurricane

Trucker Diablo are back, bringing you a mighty slab of rock in the shape of a new album. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re a no-nonsense, no frills rock band. You can expect chunky riffs, sing-along choruses, delivered with a certain amount of attitude. Put quite simply, they rock, and rock hard. They make that very statement on the opening track of the album “BTKOR” which is an abbreviation of Big Truck Keeps On Rolling.

The new album finds them exploring themselves a little, venturing into almost punk territory occasionally, and even getting a little bit “Nickelback” with Rock Kids of the 80’s.which isn’t actually a bad thing. Thankfully, they’re not one of those bands that stick to a formula and release the same album over and over. That said, it’s also comfortingly familiar, keeping their existing fans happy, while possibly gaining new ones.

What you get is a big chunk of stadium rock, made for live venues. Every song on the album is an absolute monster, begging to be sung along with. I would go so far as to say, that anyone attending a live show will leave with a sore throat and a massive grin, such is the feel-good factor. It’s not all about the music though, as there are intelligent lyrics contained within, alongside their trademark party anthems of course.

As the Big Truck rolls on, it gathers more and more momentum, and if they keep going this way, they’ll be unstoppable before long. As Twisted Sister once said “you can’t stop rock and roll,” and in the same vein, you can’t stop a runaway juggernaut that weighs far more than it should. My advice to anyone would be to stick this album on, turn up the volume and “drink beer, destroy!”

10/10
