The Prodigy - The Day Is My Enemy
A truly accomplished album.
Title track The Day Is My Enemy hits the nail on the head for setting the stage for the album. The raw energy is encapsulated in each single already released has generated an undisputed hype from old and new fans. Brushing against the style of their previous albums (re: Invaders Must Die) The Prodigy have safely sailed back to being in their musical forte. It feels as if I am rediscovering their music - everything is a little grimy and dirty which is to be desired, strangely enough. For the most part, tracks like Ibiza and Nasty project the electronic punk attitude, revealing rather than uplifting weaker elements of the tracks. These muted points are apparent as each song lacks individuality outside of being branded as a 'The Prodigy' track. Although there are moments in the album where their sound misses the mark, the overall tone of the album is fiery and generates a pulsating energy which they are notorious for producing. This is a truly accomplished album - The Prodigy are back and they're ready to take the world by storm.
