When you're at a drum n bass night & the fire alarm goes off..
Hospitality?
In Norwich?
The day after my birthday?
Yes please!
So excited and already several bevvys in, we arrived, and as we walked up to the bouncers we could hear the sound of drum and bass. I haven’t been to a d'n'b night since Color at the Waterfront, so I was pretty excited.
Once we got inside and were queing at the bar we realise that the ‘WARNING’ on the PA system wasn’t just the start of a bangin’ drum and bass tune, so after about two minutes of some eager fans expecting to hear a mad drop we all filled outside for a fire alarm. Luckily we weren’t out there too long. Back inside it was off to go find the Color room! Hosted by Mikey Blitz and Jimmy Danger with tunes from Slipz, ooooh baby, it was beautiful… although there was a lot of sweat. To be expected, of course, at any drum and bass event, but my my it was moist. Of course it was wonderful to see so many friendly faces and old friends and many a sweaty hug was shared between many sweaty people. Now in the main room we had a smattering of brilliant DJ's, the likes of Hazard, Danny Byrd and Camo & Crooked graced us with their presence, and some drum and bass dancing nurses! However after several hours dancing in the main room it was back to the Color room to catch Upgrade, for lots and lots of jump up.
After leaving pretty much entirely deafened it was time to go home and try and unwind; please come again, Hospitality.
Oh and Color? I’ll see you on New Year’s Eve.
