Thurston Moore - Rock N Roll Consciousness

Thurston Moore - Rock N Roll Consciousness

The musical architect that is Thurston Moore has created something nothing short of brilliance with Rock n Roll Consciousness, but did we honestly expect anything less from the Sonic Youth vet?

It's clear Rock n Roll Consciousness is following in the footsteps of what we've seen from Thurston for the past three decades. Exalted is no acceptation. It's 12 minutes of composed screeching and pure honest vocals, a collaboration that could truly test the depths of time. Anyone appreciative of this style of rock will not be disappointed. It sets the pace for the following four track line up, all as diverse and creative as the last. Thurston has blown caution to the wind and it's created something truly exceptional. However, it doesn't seem he’s shifted far away from his past music endeavors and it shows. It reminded me very much of early Sonic Youth. Is that a bad thing? Not at all.
