ClownSmashEverything - The Bombs Are Getting Closer...
ClownSmashEverything have a plan and considering their debut show sold out, it seems most of Norwich want to be a part of it. In the month following their debut album release, the four-piece from our Fine City packed out The Waterfront, swung by London to trash an audience there, then came back to home turf to tear up The Owl Sanctuary. Not bad for a band who have seemingly just started out together. The predominantly black-clad and mostly hairy members are all experienced musicians, but ClownSmashEverything has been long in the making and a labour of love. And booze. And probably other stuff too. ‘The Bombs Are Getting Closer…’ is ten tracks of visceral yet intelligent noise, put together with consideration and then screamed over. The pure, innocent rage of old school punk with the emotional intelligence of post-hardcore in the hands of four chaps who know exactly how to handle it. This first release was recorded, mixed and mastered in Norfolk and released through a Cambridge indie label. They even featured on BBC Radio Norfolk, a milestone that is but a dream for other acts. The group are already gaining a following in the short time since their album release, and while their roots make them more Norfolk than Colman’s Mustard, ClownSmashEverything won’t stay just a local band for long.
