Black Foxxes - Reiši

Black Foxxes - Reiši

After releasing their debut album, I’m Not Well and working hard to tour it far and wide at almost every UK festival, Black Foxxes are finally set to return with their second record Reiði (Icelandic for ‘rage’). Releasing their lead single ‘Saela’ (‘bliss’) back in December, the trio from Exeter have started this album on a confident foot, promising us with a record that will move forward from their debut and solidify them as a force to be reckoned with and fit for a headline tour. After seeing them support bands of a lesser quality on countless occasions, it’s about time we see them play a full set, and off the back of Reiði, we’ll be seeing them do just that.
Reiði is a record that sees Black Foxxes write from an empowered and steadfast position. It takes everything we love from I’m Not Well and grows upon it, refines it, and focuses it. The vocals of Mark Holley, though, are the true champion on this album. Being both fragile and fierce, he captivates you upon every verse, every chorus and every musical crescendo when the whole band comes together. It’s goosebump-inducing stuff and perfectly articulates the highs and lows of living a human existence.

9/10
