So I asked Mark White what Beercon is about

Looking for a fun night out full of booze, banter and more booze? ‘Beercon’ beer festival is the place for you, a drinking experience like no other. Running from April 2nd to 4th, the event will be hosted inside the historic St Mary’s Plain in Norwich, which is a 20 minute walk away from the train and bus station.

What makes this so different?  (Knowing Mark has been crafting the event for a year now)

We have has spent over a year planning and transforming St Mary’s into the festival space. I wanted to put on a beer festival that was slightly different to any one that's happened before...they are always about the beer but there is so much more to it.

Who did you have in mind?

My aim is to create a more diverse group of ages and genders, making it as interactive as possible so it is an “everyone space”.

‘Beercon’ will include over 40 independent breweries, street food, table tennis, live music, DJ’s and more. From creating your own beer logo to playing darts, there really is something for everyone. Mark added

“Let’s invite everyone to one space so we can show what it's like the behind the scenes of the brewing industry and give them something interactive to do while they are here”.

Even if you know nothing about beer, there will be workshops and talks to find out about the brewing industry and process of making alcohol. We want it to be a festival where people can come and have a laugh surrounded by the best brewers in the world.
Tickets can be purchased at www.beercon.co.uk, and more announcements about breweries and live music acts is to come.

So when does it start?

On Thursday 2nd of April the afternoon session will be 15:00-17:00, Friday the 3rd of April (good Friday) it will be 12:00-16:30 and on Saturday the 4th of April the afternoon session will be 12:00-16:30. All three dates will also have an evening session running from 18:00-22:30. So why not invite some mates and see whats ‘brewing’ this Easter weekend?

Certainly sounds good to me.  Melissa
