Norwich Theatre’s Teacher Network provides a space for local teachers to make meaningful connections in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Wise About Words explores the power of immersive storytelling as a potent pedagogical strategy at Reception, KS1 and 2 to aid oracy and confidence.
In this session we will introduce you to and explore some of the games and techniques from the toolkit that can easily be used within current lesson plans to create an immersive learning experience and to bolster the development of essential literacy skills. These skills encompass imaginative language, reading for pleasure, active listening, and vocabulary enrichment. By delving into the captivating world of stories and integrating drama processes, WAW fosters the growth of students’ executive function skills, confidence and wellbeing.
Not a course to teach you to be drama teachers but a way to bring your classroom joyfully to life with simple but effective techniques that work across all subjects.
Time: 4.30pm-6.30pm Venue: Stage Two, Studio Two Price: £35 per teacher or free to schools with a Teacher Network annual membership
